I deadlifted 300lb (136kg) yesterday for 3 reps. Absolutely delighted. I've only been deadlifting again regularly since June About 18 years ago, I deadlifted 185kg for a single. But I dropped out of training shortly afterwards & didn't start up again till a couple of years ago. I'm aiming to get my deadlift back up over the 400lb mark. How would you guys go about it A - Just add a kilo to the bar every week & keep going for triples B - Some kind of cycling protocol where you dial the weight down & the reps up, then work up to a new heavier PB over several weeks.
Best way to increase deadlift Just increase as u would any other lift, I don't think u will need any particularly special routine until youre lifting heavy anyway
Best way to increase deadlift Are you strapping up also at that weight..? Just keep at them adding weight, I always add 5kg to 10kg when ever I go up!
Best way to increase deadlift Keep a log book and note down your lifts as well, so you know what you have to beat.
Best way to increase deadlift That's what i was thinking. I've been googling & found all these complicated cycling routines - but I'm wodering what's wrong with just doing a triple with another kilo every week. Same should be applicable to squat & bench
Best way to increase deadlift No. I don't like straps, belts or anything like that. I lift completely raw - always have done
