Been cutting for just over 4 months now. Dropped around 27lbs thus far and did most of it on about 1400-1500 cal/day with a few cheat days in the low 2000's prob. I've just upped my cals to around 1600, but find myself getting hungrier than I was before. I'm still way below maintenance, but want to finish this cut (about 11 more lbs) as soon as possible so that I can begin maintaining/bulking and thus I would prefer to not increase any further. Haven't had any strength loss or else I def would. Anyways just curious if this is normal or if it is just all in my mind after being deprived of cals for so long. You would think it would get easier as you weigh less and have become accustomed to not eating very much. Thanks
Anyone get hungrier as they get leaner Generally I find that I feel worse the longer a cut goes on but I'm actually less hungry. However you just upped calories, which often times can stimulate hunger (although you only upped a small amount so that may not be the case here). In short, everyone's body is different, so it's hard to tell exactly why you're hungrier now.
Anyone get hungrier as they get leaner Hunger as in stomach discomfort, no. Feeling run down/less energy/losing patience, yes.
Anyone get hungrier as they get leaner Hmmmm, yeah good point on the upping calories stimulating hunger. Could be, thanks for the input.
Anyone get hungrier as they get leaner Hunger as in more cravings than usual and cravings that last longer. Losing patience... LOL... couldn't agree more!!
Anyone get hungrier as they get leaner Ah. Psychological cravings, I started craving carbs, pastas, and sugar especially towards those last few pounds, and I don't have much of a sweet tooth (wasn't doing keto, around 125-175 carbs a day). Didn't really experience more hunger in general, though; there was more than a few times where I was so hungry, I was too "lazy" to eat and just took a nap instead.
Anyone get hungrier as they get leaner Always a good strategy...Sleep so you don't eat!!! Thanks for the input
Anyone get hungrier as they get leaner started at 470lbs and have been losing weight for 9 months now(mostly eating in the 1400-1700 range), about 3 months ago I started hitting weights very hard and upped my intake to 2000-2500 and have seen great results. When I finally broke the 250lb mark my cravings took off to the point I can no longer go more than 2 weeks under 2200 calories without having a higher calorie day to keep my sanity.
Anyone get hungrier as they get leaner My hunger and cravings get unreal as I approach 10% bodyfat. It got easier with repeat cuts down to that level of lean-ness, but the first time almost drove me crazy
