    Lemon Water

      I have been told that drinking a cup of warm lemon water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach can be beneficial, and that lemon in general is very healthy and cleansing. But it has also been suggested that its benefits are often overstated. Does anyone agree or disagree with this, and do you personally make lemon or lemon water an important part of your routine?

      Well, lemon water is an acidic beverage, and if you consume it with an empty stomach, you might be prone to developing ulcers. Same thing with caffeine and some medication. That's why you need to take these after meals, to prevent the acidity on dissolving your stomach lining.

      Oh I've heard there are many things you should drink in the morning on an empty stomach. However, I can't attest as to any of them are beneficial or not. Personally, I just drink a glass of regular water. When it comes to lemon water, I suppose it could help with the cleansing, but overall I think you'd need to do more research on it to be sure if it helps or not.

      I know a few people that do drink warm lemon water in the mornings - I have heard that it's meant to be really good for your kidneys, to essentially cleanse them - but I don't know how 'scientific' those claims are!

      I guess hydration is good whether it's with lemon water or just regular water - I always try and make sure that I'm getting my quota of liquid in during the day!

      If you are going to drink warm lemon water you may as well drink a hot cup of green tea with some added lemon. All benefits of Green tea are well researched and documented, specially the part where it boots your metabolism, increasing oxidation and thus making you burn more fat, plus it adds a little caffeine to the mix that also helps. Regarding drinking it hot or cold I don't think that it matters, the whole effect about cold beverages burning calories because your body has to warm them I believe is negligible.

      I have only done that a few times and can be good if sick or got a cold and should eat something so you don't have too much acid in the body and I usually drink kale a green grass drink you can use a blender to mix it and nice in the morning and have been using this drink since last year. There are many benfits like good for the bones and also reduce chance of cardiovascular disease which is something that can affect people and this juice is healthy and natural as well in the process and you can buy the kale from the supermarket, and also buy it from asian grocries or a bulk inn store in seed form. I reckon that lemon juice can be a good for people sometimes and also should have it a few times a week or a month and using green tea in its place can be good just add some sugar and you will have the same thing in the end.

      It has been my routine to drink one or two glasses of water without lemon upon waking up. Once, i tried withl two lemons but my stomach seems to react with murmurs. I drink lemonade but with food in my stomach at some time in a day.

      I don't think drinking lemon water on empty stomach is a good idea since lemon is an acidic beverage as OursIsTheFury said.
      You should probably eat a small breakfast meal first, drink bottled water and then after around 20-30 minutes drink the lemon water as a refreshment.

      I drink two glasses of water before bedtime and in the morning on an empty stomach. Definitely helps getting business done in the bathroom and it activates your metabolism. I did try drinking hot lemon water for a couple of weeks but lemons are expensive where I come from. I'm going to try calamansi instead, since it's also a citrus fruit like the lemon.
