So I went to the gym to see how many pullups I could do as opposed to chinups(supinated grip). Fuking 5 pullups compared to my 6 chinups? How the fuk is this possible? What in the hell is my weak link? Either way, this means I have to work that much harder on pullups compared to chinups(for transfererable strength and the ability to add weight for 3x5). Anyone here ever experienced this? Hopefully, this is just a fluke and I will revert back to 3 pullups(which was the expected number).
wtf? pullups almost as easy as chinups? Yes, but only 1 rep easier? IMO the likeness is ridiculous. Chinups are supposed to be twice as easy as pullups.
wtf? pullups almost as easy as chinups? So if I can do 30 pullups, I should be able to do 60 chinups?
wtf? pullups almost as easy as chinups? That is the expectation yeah. They put your biceps in a much better position to contribute to the lift.
wtf? pullups almost as easy as chinups? But I use a thumbless grip. Are you telling me I've been doing it wrong all along? FML.
wtf? pullups almost as easy as chinups? There could be weak links that might explain why the expected numbers are just not happening. I have no fuking idea what those weak links could be. Any ideas?
wtf? pullups almost as easy as chinups? This could be due to a few factors bro. Pull ups but more emphasis on your arms. If your biceps are strong, your pull ups will be easier. Chin ups done correctly hit your lats a lot more, so obviously if you have a strong back, this will be easier. Other factors could be your form. You can swing your body more on pull ups, making them easier. If you have weak elbow joints or tendons, pull ups will be more of a challenge since its more of a direct stress on them. Grip strength will come into play too. Best advice is to not concentrate on the number your able to perform right now and put more emphasis on just proper form and continue to do them and your strength and reps will improve.
