Who do you think would dominated the 70's-00's eras if Arnold, Haney, Yates, Coleman (etc) were not around?

      Some noteworthy contenders

      Lou Ferrigno
      Tom Platz
      Mike Mentzer
      Serge Nubret
      Albert Beckles

      Rich Gaspari
      Lee Labrada
      Shawn Ray
      Vince Taylor
      Bob Paris

      Flex Wheeler
      Kevin Levrone
      Nasser El Sonbatty
      Lee Priest
      Paul Dillet

      Branch Warren
      Victor Martinez
      Kai Greene
      Dennis Wolf

TBH a lot of those competitors you listed are either incomplete or dont have the shape of a "Mr. O" IMO. I think Lou was over hyped, He was big but other of his time were much better, danny padilla for example had a much more complete and proportionate physique. levrones back was too weak for a Mr. O imo. Priest had a super odd shape, short limbs and a long narrow torso, structural proportions of a midget.

There are quiet a few great bbers that never won an O that IMO were worthy, but others who were great but just dont fit the bill IMO. But you could make a case for almost anyone that hit the O stage

Flex should have won an Olympia with that physique; he had bad luck.
(im not saying he should have beaten dorian/ronnie in '93,'98,'99)

From the 70's: Robbie Robinson, Ed Corney, Serge Nubret or Danny Padilla would all be good pics. I think Robbie is my personal favorite.

If no political games were involved. It would have been Nasser during Yates years. Nubret would also get a cople wins, if no skin colour games were involved, if not maybe Dave Drapper in the early years and then Ferrigno. Coleman years I don't really know, maybe Nasser would extend his reign and then Cutler and Martinez would battle for 1st and 2nd. If no Cutler, Martinez would lead untill Phil or Kai grab it.

I asked Ronnie this same question & he named off Shawn, Flex, & Kevin without hesitation.

This. Pretty much all those guys never deserved a sandow, but it's a shame some of them never got one, like shawn ray.

And on a side not, glad Dex will never be on that list lol.

Look at it this way: your entire list has LIVED THE LIFE...they have found a way to make a living off of something that they loved...

in that sense, everyone of them ARE winners.....
