Do you have that initial fear on a new PB lift that it could go horribly wrong ?

I had this last week when Dave passed me up the 55's on DB press and l thought if l cant hold this its gonna smash my face right in..

Does anyone else go thro this thought process just before there spotter lets go of the weight ?

When going for a PB (especially if a 1RM ) it does pay to be a little wary/cautious.

But in the end ya have to take that breath & chuck ya balls to the wall as ya know

1 RM's are the most dangerous (so I don't bother with em now I'm a n old is git lol)

never put myself in that situation,.., im there to train with good form and use the weight to move my muscle.. not there to injure myself and ego lift my way into injury,,,

spotting dave other day on shoulders on 40;s when his left arm gave way a little that actually could have ended his days lifting weights ...

luckily i caught his wrist and no harm was done.. all it takes is a little tweak to fcuk up years of hard work !!!
