hi every one i am takeing in 2600 cals a day. Just woundering postworkout in my shake would i get the spike i need from a banana instead of useing glucose. 60G of glucose and 2 scoops of protain is 700 cals. And a banana and 2 scoops of protain is 300 cals. like if the banana and the protain does the job there is 400 cals in the diffrents. So i could get that 400 cals in the form of food instead of going with the protain and glucose for my cal intake for that day. just woundering what do u guys find works the best for u should i stick with the glucose or will a banana do the job ok thanks

All irrelevant unless you train fasted. If you train fasted it's still largely irrelevant. Eat what you want post workout.

I take 60g glucose between sets on chest day, and bananas between sets on leg day. (notsrs)

Read the sticky above by AA on post workout nutrition. It'll save me a lot of typing on this stupid IPad!

Guess what? 2 scoops of protein powder alone will spike insulin to the level necessary to maximize muscle protein balance (muscle protein synthesis minus muscle protein breakdown). Do you have another goal in "spiking" insulin?

This is the first time someone said 'woundering' instead of 'wondering'.

      I'm impressed OP.

Please read that sticky. And the answer is likely so, this is a controversial subject. Overall daily intake rules!
