Yesterday I basically decided I was having a cheat day (yes, not meal) and literally ate everything in sight. This is the first time I've done this. This morning I wake up and I'm 5-6lbs heavier than I normally am. I assume most of this is water weight and so I'm not too worried. But I want to make sure that my weight will not stay there. But this weight will drop back down correct?
I Didn't Just Screw Up my Cut did I? Nothing to worry about, you probably gained half a pound at the most.
I Didn't Just Screw Up my Cut did I? Did you count the calories you ate? Yes, most of it will be water, depending on number of calories consumed. But you could always go low calorie today to level out the calories over the 2 days.
I Didn't Just Screw Up my Cut did I? Don't think about the daily calorie effect, think about the difference it made to your weekly calorie intake; probably fairly insignificant. You still would have finished the week at a calorie deficit. It's the weeks that make the difference, not the days.
I Didn't Just Screw Up my Cut did I? I'd bet no fat was really gained, or if it was, it was almost none, to the point of not even worth caring about. Bad eating is like good eating in the sense that 1 day of it won't make or break you. 1 day of hitting your macros ans calories after 5 years of being a slob won't make a difference. Just like 1 day of being dumb won't undo your hard work. It is determined by long term patterns, not short term anomalies/slip ups. For example, I've done some eating contests with the ROTC guys, and have done 2 for charity around here and ill gain 7-10 lbs on the scale the next morning, and even on my lean bulk calorie surplus, I'll be back to normal weight in 4-5 days.
I Didn't Just Screw Up my Cut did I? True, I guess we'll see. I probably ate 3000-4000 more calories than I usually do. I ate til my stomach hurt. Feltverygoodman
I Didn't Just Screw Up my Cut did I? Well if he ate over maintenance calories, and it wasn't carbs to contribute to possible glycogen depletion he gained some fat. Is it negligible when compared to his calorie deficit at end of the week? Probably
I Didn't Just Screw Up my Cut did I? ^^^ Corrected. Glycogen depletion is not an issue in this space of time; And if it was... Energy Consumption > Energy Expenditure = Weight gain. The proportion of fat to muscle is only determined by the amount of surplus added.
I Didn't Just Screw Up my Cut did I? According to your stats, you're 18 years old, stand 6'1" tall and weigh 168 pounds. Why in the world would you be cutting???
