      As i've said in my previous few posts im a nutrition rookie and starting to make a nutrition plan up.

      im going on the advice of 5-6 meals per day (a meal every 3 hours roughly) 40% carbs, 40% protein and 20% fat.

      Only problem is i am getting very varying answers in my research of how many calories i should consume to build muscle without gaining fat!
      1 site is calculating i should be consuming 2900 and another 1900! i thought the 1st seemed more likely but i dont want to start eating that and pile on the fat!

      Im 25, 5ft 9.5in and weigh 160lbs - training mon - fri for about an hour a day.

      any help would be much appreciated.

      At your weight would personally start at 3000 and see how goes for awhile.

      You don't have to eat 5 meals a ay if you dont want to....jus sayin...

      Hit macros: start winning.

      I went from a 20st fatass 20 a day smoker to my profile pic on 1-2meals per day (most cals consumed PWO)

      3000? only thing im a bit weary of is i used to eat about 1500 max as i was constantly trying to lose weight so will my body not pile on weight as im not used to eating that much? cheers.

      Well you want to gain weight don't you? Muscle is weight...and muscle growth absolutely requires a caloric surplus.

      No cals - no muscle

      really 2 meals? i normally used to eat 2-3 meals max but was reading ur body starts eating muscle and storing fat if not fed every 3-4 hours?

      Take around 3 days of ZERO food for the body to even contemplate muscle catabolism.

      I regularly fast 24hrs around once a month or so, my muscle hasn't dropped of or dissolved as yet lol
