Hi I'm 19 years old and 5 months in bodybuilding. I was 25% bodyfat and dropped to 15% bodyfat in 2 months plus added arm, chest size and lowered belly size.. I went through a crash diet about 1000-1500 calorie per day with only oatmeal and milk at breakfast, 2 protein shake + whatever was at dinner. My question is they say to add muscle you need to go in a calorie surplus and to lose fat you must go for a calorie deficit. But i went through a calorie deficit but high protein diet, my bench, shoulder press and curls still increased but slowly. Is it possible to add muscle while losing fat in a calorie deficit if you have a high protein diet?
Fat Loss + Muscle gains The "they" you speak of are simply wrong.* ------------------ * See: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/attach...1&d=1310193169
Fat Loss + Muscle gains the 'they' i'm speaking of are all those articles of muscle gains or fat loss diets out there bro. all those articles on the internet say the same thing..
Fat Loss + Muscle gains It's well established that lean body mass (muscle mass) can be increased during periods of caloric deficit.
Fat Loss + Muscle gains You cant! Ask me! I was lean once upon a time now have grown fat and trying to cut body fat. I have come down from 30% to 20% in about 1.5 month. All you can do is maintain what you have and lose the fat. Gains... no way!
Fat Loss + Muscle gains Man i'm the living example of gaining while cutting.. my bench increased by 20 kg the past 2 months + curls and shoulders increased by 2 times what i was lifting on a calorie deficit without taking carbs before going to the gym
Fat Loss + Muscle gains You lost 10% of your body fat in 1.5 months? I caution you on using very low calorie diets (VLCD) your outcomes will not be pleasant.
