This post from two years ago pretty much puts it all into perspective, yet leaves me with one question:

How did the intermittent fasting diet get so popular and successful if the end verdict = your body will break down muscle and not prioritize repair during a weight lifting caloric deficit + carb depleted state?

      Thanks,

I could be wrong, but I think that a lot of it is geared around the use of mass amounts of BCAAs while doing IF. The body will use those rather than strip from the muscle in fasted state. At least, I believe that's the way that I read it.

Switched over to fasted training recently and loving it. Should of started this a while back. I found it easier to work out on an empty stomach in the early mornings than after I have ate a meal.

it's so much easier than timing my day around waiting 1.5 hours before leaving (since i hit the gym first thing)
it also allows me maximum absorbtion/effect of my pre-wo (I'm a preworkout supplement whore )
not only that, but I just started my cut and it allows me to get a lot fuller more later in the day
