So what dumbbell weight do you start to look good in a sleeveless shirt? How long would it take to get to a 50 lb dumbbell, if I'm currently at 25 lb (yes I'm embarrassed about that weight)? How long would it take to get nice arms (forearms, biceps, triceps)?

Its not so much what your curling with a DB, more like the aesthetic appearance of your arm which is influenced by body fat % and muscle mass. honestly i would not worry about curls and tricep pushdowns, do power exercises like deadlifts, squats, military press, etc and work on increasing total body strength. Work on the big muscles and the smaller ones (bicep is a small muscle) will catch up. My mate has been doing amateur BB for the past 2-3 yrs and he was really obsessed with the 'beach'muscles like 6pack, biceps. While he HAS actually built pretty big peaked biceps(it looks like a big egg)..his overall arm still looks skinny and not very powerful which tbh is not too good a look. Work on becoming powerful with compound full body exercises and worry about individual muscles later.
About looking good in a singlet, everyone looks good so long as your not obese imo. just be natural and confident Never be embarrassed

What weight ? Weight of which you work out with? Or body weight..?

Do compound movements to build an overall frame and use any "isolation" movements to supplement. You're arms should grow relative to the rest of your body(in some cases that's different..) which means you just gotta lift hard and eat more.
