So, ever since I first started lifting, I always wondered. Since Whey/Casein protein comes from milk, why can't we just drink milk and call it a day?

Besides the fact that you can vomit from consuming so much milk, but, let's say someone has a strong stomach, can they just drink gallons of milk and that's it?

No, this is not my question. Question is, instead of spending $25+ on protein, why night just $3 of milk?

If you can isolate the protein from whole milk, then do that to save money

Milk + Protein power = more protein = more muscle.
Protein power itself contains more protein (Obviously), more then milk. So you're getting more out of it.

Yes you could, but milk is usually high in fat and is pretty expensive per gallon.

Whey on the other hand is a very cheap source of protein, about $0.69 per 30 grams. Where as the average serving of milk yeilds 8grams of protein per serving, and there is only 16 servings per gallon. Not to mention 1 cup of milk is quite of bit of liquid for 8 grams of protein.

I drink half a gallon of milk a day. Liquid calories are very easy to digest and it's an easy ~1500 calories and 64g of protein each day.
