      I have this cereal that says each serving is '3/4 cup (27g)'. My question is this: 3/4 cup= 6oz = 170.09 g.

So why is it saying only 27g? Thanks

On cereals they put the weight in grams per serving size listed n the box which varies highly from one cereal to the next.... when you posted 170g=6oz that is correct for liquids, but cereal being flaky and having pockets of air are measured out by weight

so what is 3/4 cup of royal basmati rice in grams then? in my fitness pal app, it says 3/4 cup cooked is 150 calories. it doesn't give me an option to put the servings in grams.

oh god counting calories just got so much harder I had it all figured out! I've just been using 6 oz as 3/4 cup this whole time! So how would I go about measuring something like rice if the label says the serving is '3/4' cup? lol

Unfortunantly with MFPals limited bank of foods that is when it comes in handy to have a kitchen scale

I just bought one the other day actually. So how would I go about measuring the rice, or something like steak, if it doesn't say in the app (or the actual label) what the serving is in grams?

Measure out 3/4 of a cup... pour it on scale that will give you the grams.... how every that 150 cal is 3/4 cup cooked! so you will have to figure out how much actually makes the 3/4 cup in other words how much water you cook it in and its size of expansion

When you say measure it out, do you mean to pour it in a cup with lines measure 1/2 cup, 3/4 cups and so on? And how on earth am I supposed to do that last part.
