      Hey guys

According to MyFitnessPal, i eat about 170 grams of protein daily. I'm not asking whether its enough or too much,
What i'm asking here is whether the protein from veggies (broccoli, tomatoes, bell peppers), from bread and rice, and fruits counts as a whole protein source like chicken breast or meats or cheese?
Because about 40 grams of my daily protein intake comes from those food sources, and i'm wondering if the protein they have is "the same" as the well known protein sources?

I know this may be a question an idiot might ask, but I really need to know if i should recalculate my protein intake because of the protein in these foods?

      Thanks a lot in advance.

      Protein from veggies/bread/fruit

Well if i reach my daily protein intake goal from vegetables as well, is it the same whether i would have reached it from only meats and chicken breast?
Does vegetable protein "not count" as good protein?

You definitely don't want to count veggies and fruits into your protein count. The protein coming from those sources are "incomplete" which means they're lacking certain essential amino acids. Take those out of ur protein count (keep them in your diet though cus you need those for carbs) and fill in a little bit more meat or milk or whatever it is you eat for protein.

i would not base my protein intake on just those sources. to be honest i would only count them as an extra source. if my goal was to take in 250g of protein for example, then i would get it from complete sources of protein

Trust me don't worry too much about it, just remember veggies shouldn't even been counted AT ALL, you should eat the heck out of them but I never add them to my calorie count, carb count, or protein count. my advice is add a protein shake in your day and that will make up for the 40 grams of protein ur taking away by not counting veggies or fruits.

But veggies do have calories in them, not counting them will be like eating 200-300 calories and not counting them as carbs...

      Count them.

Though veggies and fruits won't give much (maybe 10g a day?)
The proteins in grain products can add up easily, so don't miss those.

Don't worry about the incomplete proteins stuff... if you eat a decent diet, you'll have all your aminos accounted for.

Animal Sources are generally HBV whereas plant protein sources are LBV.
