Or you r just lifting less weight than u could lift if u waited 3-4 mins and by waiting less, u just lift less weight and have less muscle-strength gains?

resting over a minute is completely pointless, i always rest about 45sec between sets and 2 min between excercises

good for pumping as much blood as possible into whatever your target muscle group is. i usually do short rests + high reps after my high weight + low rep exercises and the gainzz have been great

Unless you are doing rest paused training, it doesn't really matter very much.

The only benefit you get in taking shorter rest periods is a greater cardiovascular workout which means your heart will be pumping faster. This has nothing to do with adding more muscle or strength. When you have enough rest between sets you are able to do more weight, more reps which = to greater muscle growth. I rest 3-4 minutes so I can give each set my all.

losing the pump doesnt mean will not grow...also don t just say
I always do this or always do that...i don t care about what u do...Especially when advice come from skinny ppl so they don t have any proof that it works.

Need some reasonable explanation about what are the pros and cons of long vs short rest periods.

edit:hope this study is legit ^^

For strength days I'd rest longer between sets, say 2-4 minutes.

Hypertrophy I'd keep rest to 45-60s

Do you even read? That study states the exact opposite: That short rest periods are slightly more beneficial for the first month.

OP: Rest length is personal preference. Personally, I take longer rest periods to recover between heavy sets.

The shorter the rest, the more it works your cardiovascular system, obviously.
