If you could have the perfect body (by your own definition), without working to get or maintain it, would you want it?

Yes, I'd want the body but I'd still workout because it makes me feel good and keeps me sane.

this is a trick question, i just know it.

i would say...if things come too easy, or things are handed to us in life, we tend to not appreciate them as much. i appreciate the hard work that goes into getting to my goals, and so...probably, i wouldn't 'want it,' but...give me a magic wand, and i'll let you know my answer with absolute certainty.

Yes, I would take it, but knowing me, I would change my mind on my "perfect build" and start training again to get to where I'd want to be again. Vicious circle.

Sure, just like I'd take a million dollars if given to me but agree with all of the above posters. No doubt it would feel better to work for it then be given it. That saying about don't look a gift horse in the mouth might apply though in this case too

I enjoy the training and improving a lot.
If I had nowhere to go I don't think I would like it.

      without sounding too...i dunno...cliche-esque.

dare i say...it's in the struggle towards our goals, that we grow. (in this case, literally as well as figuratively)
coming into my second year with weight lifting, i have made gains internally, and sometimes, that's been an equally great blessing as is the external gains. if that makes sense. i have learned that i'm not a quitter. i used to be, and this sport helped me to change. so...if the 'perfect bod' were handed to me...what would i learn in that?

      just my $.02.

I lift more for the stress relief and sense that I accomplished something physical.

So, as long as I can keep working out there would be no reason not to take it as I would still lift for the accomplishments in PL, SM, CFit.
