Since I started weightlifting a month ago I've suffered from problems going to the toilet. Anyway I had an appt today with the Dr and she told me I was taking in too much protein and the change in diet is causing the problem I'm 184lbs and am currently taking in about 250 g a day, I read somewhere than taking in 1g of protein per body weight you can still grow is there any truth to this as I don't want to drop any gains that I've made by dropping too much protein intake.

There was a lad in my gym not too long ago, who the Dr told him to lay off the protein for a month as something to do with his blood was off the scale as he was taking too much in. I only kind of over heard it but sounds the same sort of thing.

Just reduce it a little and see if makes any differences.

Well I know a High protein - Low fibre diet will more than likely make you constipated.

Maybe just add some more bread into your diet or anything else that's high in fibre.

you didnt say what the problem was, diahrea or constipation? 250g protein ed is nothing realy, if its the runs then you prob have a level of lactose intolarance, as above adding fibre will help, if you have oats with your shack should help alot and plent green veg, or change from whey to another form of protein or a blend of whey and cas will help.

i cant stomach much pure whey protein, only 1 i can digest fine is myprotien true whey which is more expencive than there other wheys but about the same price as the more main stream brands but it has digestive enzymes in it to stop digestion problems and it tastes great ;).

if you get the runs of whey then defo go with mp true whey, or a protein blend ;)

i think my lactose intolarance is getting werse over the years, i dont no if whey is the cause of it, i used to be able to drink 1ltr milk no problem, no1 1 500ml milkshake has my stomach bubbling at times.......
