Just a thought of what people are like,

I found a really fancy phone on the train recently, it was locked so I waited for a call and answered, got the owners details and handed back the following morning

Would you hand it in or "finders keepers"...

Yeah I found a wallet with over $1000 in NYC once, managed to return it to the owner, turned out he owned a starbucks and he gave me a card for free starbucks for life (in his store in grand central station)

I lost it after using it once, also I don't like coffee, although I did manage to make up like a $9 concoction including whipped cream and chocolate sauce on one of those cold coffee drinks that was pretty decent.

If I hadn't lost it I'm pretty sure he'd have ended up paying more than $1000 in the long term lol

My friend once found a bag with a large amount of green plants and a bag of white powder in, panicked and left it where he found it. When he described the size I reckon he found about a 1/2 kilo of coke and maybe a kg of weed.

Someone probably dumped it whilst being chased, stupid bastard left it there!!!

I always hand stuff in/back, imagine how annoyed the person would be losing a £300 phone or worse, their wallet. I have lost plenty of things and nearly always get them back because people aren't dicks generally. Karma

Fair plat to ya OP, more guys like you around and we'd be laughin,
Found a few phones in my time, (security work) always returned them to owners if possible.
Id be gutted if i left mine somewhere and some pikie nicked it.
I know we'll have people sayin well its your fault for forgetting it etc, but everyone makes mistakes!

Yes always. Even if I borrow stuff, I prefer to give it back.

My biggest recent grudge is 2 pairs of lifting straps that seem to have "vanished" if left unattended for more than 10 minutes?!

3rd pair purchased today!!!

For me it depends on its value. If its something of high value or looks of sentiment Id go to lengths to return it. If its a piece of clothing or something small its going in my goddamn bag.
