Hi all, I work for environmental health so i often have to do quality checks of products, making sure weights and measures are correct etc.

I bought a box of my protein meal replacement bars - On opening them, I saw that they were a lot smaller than the previous box i had been supplied (They messed up my order and sent me choc orange - a flavour i absolutely detest, but the girl on the phone argued that i ordered orange) I thought what ever, i'll stomach em, and ordered a load more stuff from them. Generally, i find there stuff ok, and are an ok company, but recently they have let me down and I've been less than satisfied with their service.

As i said, the new bars looked a lot smaller, so i decided to get the scales out. some of the bars are on average 5grams lighter than the 80grams they should be. I can't be bothered or asked to complain to the company, but do feel like keeping all the bars and referring the matter to trading standards to investigate.

the purpose of this post is to let you know incase you too are being short changed, and to double check your orders. Anyone else had this?

I'd post in the My Protein section mate. Threads seem to get sorted weeks quicker than going through their customer services.

I might post there too. principal of it more than anything. On a large scale basis, 5 grams per bar, on average 2 -5 bars a box. thats a huge saving to the company in production.

Tbf most scales can be out slightly and still be considered calibrated. Usually 2g for diverging that weight i would imagine.

Also if they are e marked there is an t1 snd t2 tolerance allowing them to be legaly under slightly, so 5g isn't that much

You should have had an email that says you ordered the flavour you did. If you detest chocolate orange and didn't order that flavour then get the buggers sent back for the flavour you ordered.

I would imagine they would be net weight, they wouldn't count the packaging.
