      in terms of bodybuilding, they are worse than modern pros for very basic obvious reasons. that is not to say that i dislike that era or do not respect them by any means. however it drives me crazy when people argue till they are blue in the face about how a pro from the past is better because they look better to them or "represent what bodybuilding really is", etc.

      70's= better in regards to homoerotic fantasy's from creeper fans

      90's-current= better in terms of bodybuilding, nothing less, nothing more

      rant = over.

      i'd say more females and the general population prefer 70s bodybuilder physiques than ones of today too, not just creeper fans

      70s physiques probably would have helped increase bodybuilding's popularity too

      I see it from both sides, No era has "better bodybuilders" than the others. Its the same as any other sport it evolves as new and more effective enhancements, supplements, techniques and equipment etc comes out.

      The people who were the best in the 70s made the best of what they had available and what they knew at the time just like the people from the 80s and then from the 90s and so on. If they knew the same information about the body, training and drugs etc and had access to the same things as the bodybuilders from the 90s or today then they would most likely look the same as the pros from the 90s and today. But if they knew what 90s or current pros know now back then then by now more research would have been done and better drugs, equipment etc will be available now so the 90s and current pros would be bigger, more vascular or what ever. If you can make sense of that?

      homoerotic fantasies?????

      man....where did THAT come from?

      whether you like it or not, OP, that ugly underbelly of bodybuilding has always been around and always will be...no need to even mention it.....

      if you think it has ended?

      Every era in BB has it's own "look" and everyone should be rated as to how they compared TO THEIR CURRENT PEERS......

      leave it at that.....

      Everyone has an opinion.
      The 70's era played a big role in getting the sport where it is today.
